How Pricepoint reads availability from Cloudbeds?

Pricepoint can read the availability from Cloudbeds in two ways:

Online Availability

Pricepoint can pull the availability from Cloudbeds the same way your hotel's booking engine does. It means that all restrictions like minimum stay or blocked beds will be taken into account.
If the guest can book a room via the booking engine, Pricepoint will show the availability. If the guest cannot book a room, Pricepoint will read availability zero. It means that to understand the availability you need to look either at your availability online or at your Availability Matrix in Cloudbeds. You cannot simply look at the Calendar because the Calendar does not show minimum stay restrictions.

Availability Based on Bookings
Alternatively, Pricepoint can calculate the availability based on bookings. In this case, Pricepoint will look at the specific day, count the number of booked nights and deduct it from the total number of available units. This method is good but in this case, Pricepoint may have different availability than the ones visible online, for example, for the days when there are blocked beds in the hotel.

Ultimately, both options are good and they can be even used interchangeably. One of the key drivers will be the question of why are there any blocked units. Is this long-term or temporary?
Which of these methods would better represent the available inventory for sale? Usually, it's the first method. Pricepoint should see the number of units really available for sale.
